Configuring Call Forwarding
To get calls that come into your current phone number when you're
online, you'll need to activate the "Call Forward On Busy" feature
of your phone line. While you're online and someone calls your
current phone number, this feature routes those calls to CallWave
via a toll-free number (so we can get the call to you when you're
online). Back to Top
Configuring
Call Waiting
About 50% of CallWave customers have Call Waiting. If your
callers hear continual ringing, or an incoming call disconnects
you when you're online, you'll need to temporarily disable
Call Waiting to use CallWave. It's easy to set up your computer
to do this automatically — it will temporarily turn-off Call
Waiting when you connect to the Internet, and then turn Call
Waiting back on when you get offline. We've created simple
instructions for the most popular Internet Service Providers
(ISPs) below. It only takes a minute! We will instruct you
during the CallWave setup process on how to disable call
waiting when using these ISPs

Configuring With DSL/Cable
CallWave works with DSL and cable modems to deliver all of your
calls — then you decide which ones you want. Use your CallWave
service in ways that are just right for you.
"I have always used CallWave with broadband [DSL/cable]. I appreciate the service
when I'm on my telephone and I get an instant alert of an incoming call. (I don't have
call waiting.) Plus, someone can leave a message and I can get right back to them."

Answering Your Current Phone Number
Getting Toll-free calls from friends and family
Receiving faxes
Personal hotline direct to your location (anywhere
in the USA)
Answering
Your Current Phone Number
CallWave answers calls for you when your Current Phone
Number is busy (you're online or on the phone) or
when you don't answer. Or both. You decide.
Answer calls when my line is busy
If you already have "Call Forward on Busy" turned
on for your phone line then there's nothing you
need to do. CallWave just works. It will continue
to answer calls when your line is busy — with DSL
or cable that means when someone is talking on your
phone.
In addition, once "Call Forward on Busy" is turned
on, CallWave works like "call waiting" on your Current
Phone Number. You'll be notified of new calls when
you're on the phone, just like call waiting, but
CallWave won't interrupt your call in progress.
You'll see the name and phone number of the person
trying to reach you in your CallWave window. Think
of it as "polite" call waiting — you'll know there's
another call for you, but you won't have to put
the person you're talking to on hold to find out
who it is. With CallWave, you'll already know who
is calling on the other line.
"Had
CallWave with dial-up and switched to broadband.
We don't have call waiting on our phone line, so
this is a good way to continue to get messages without
having to switch over to receive the call."
(Survey
response by CallWave customer on using CallWave
with DSL/cable)
Answer calls when my line is busy and
when I don't answer
By setting up both "Call Forward on Busy" and "Call
Forward on Ring No-Answer," all of the calls you
don't answer will go to your CallWave window. You'll
see the calls you missed and hear any messages that
your callers left. Your CallWave software will become
the "voice mail system" for your Current Phone Number.
Your CallWave software is better than your answering
machine because it answers calls when your phone
line is busy. And it's better than phone company
voice mail, because it shows the name and number
of who called even when your callers don't leave
messages. Best of all, you have easy access to your
messages through the CallWave window on your PC.
You can also check messages by phone anytime.
"CallWave
with Call Forward No-Answer gives me the best voice
mail service I can find."

Getting toll-free calls from friends and family
CallWave provides a toll-free way for friends and family calling long distance to reach you
when you're online or on the phone! And it's included as part of your CallWave service. It's
free long distance for friends and family.
Receiving
Faxes
For ease and convenience in receiving faxes, nothing beats a CallWave Fax Number.
You get your own personal fax number from CallWave. Your faxes are sent directly to your
email inbox AND to your CallWave window. You can view faxes on your computer, print them,
save them or forward them.
"I
use CallWave mostly for fax and it works great."
(Survey response by CallWave
customer on using CallWave with DSL/cable)
Note: If you already have a CallWave Fax Number, there's nothing you
need to do when you get DSL or cable. Your fax number will continue to work.
Personal
hotline direct to your location (anywhere in the USA)
Your CallWave Phone Number is like a personal hotline
without the cost of a second phone line! It's your
own personal, private phone number that you can give
to your friends and family so they can reach you anywhere,
anytime — whether you're online, on the phone, or
away from home. Back to Top

How do I check my messages?
There are four ways to check your messages:
- Go online and check for messages in your CallWave window.
- Call your Toll-Free Home Number (1-877-CALLWAVE) and follow the instructions.
- Call your CallWave Phone Number. When you hear your greeting, press the star * key
on your telephone, and enter your password.
- Call toll-free 1-866-MAIL-866 and follow the instructions.
If you have new messages, you'll hear them. You can also listen to saved messages or change
the options on your service, such as your greeting and where you want to take calls when
someone calls your CallWave Phone Number or Toll-Free Home Number.
How will I know when to check for messages?
When you get new messages, we'll notify you by sending an email
alert to your email address or to your text-messaging enabled
cell phone. You'll know that someone called and to check your
messages. If you don't have Call Notification turned on, then
you can simply dial in any time to check for new messages.
Can I use this feature when I'm online?
You can check your messages any time, whether you're online
or not online. If you're online, your CallWave window will let
you know when you've got a message. And whether you're online
or not, you can always dial one of the numbers listed above
to check your messages. Back to Top
