the Caller ID of whoever calls. You can configure this feature
to notify you of calls that came in while you were online
or not online. You can have the Call Notification email sent
to your Internet email address OR to your text-messaging enabled
cell phone.
How do I set up
Call Notification?
You can set up your Call Notification settings by visiting
the Choose Features page in the CallWave's Members Zone.
After you login, click on the "choose FEATURES" tab, and
then click on the modify button next to Call Alerting. you
will see the Call Notification option at the bottom of the
"Account Summary" page. Click on the "Notification Address"
link, and you will be taken to the "Call Notification Settings"
page.
My cell phone
provider is not listed in the cell phone configuration page.
If your cell phone provider is not list, select "Other". You
will be able to enter your correct cell phone address after
you click the "submit your preferences" button on the configuration
page.
When I
change my notification settings I am taken to a page that
says "Please Verify Your Confirmation Code". What am I supposed
to do here?
Before we can allow you to send your call notifications to
a specified email address or phone number, we need to verify
that you have access to that email address or phone number.
As soon as you access this page, we will send you an email,
or text message (via cell phone). This email or text message
will include a 4-digit confirmation code. Please enter this
code into the blank field on the web page.
Why didn't
I receive the cell phone test notification?
- Verify that you entered the correct cell phone number and wireless provider.
- Make sure that the correct cell phone is turned on
- Make sure that your cell phone service plan includes a text messaging service.
- Go through the configuration again to cause test notification to be resent and then
wait at least 30 min.
- If it still fails, verify that the email address used for your cell phone provider
is correct for your region
My Confirmation
Code didn't work!
Make sure that you entered the correct confirmation code.
Each time you complete the Call Notification set up process,
a unique code will be generated. If you complete the set up
process multiple times, you will receive multiple emails (each
with their own unique confirmation code). If this happens,
try using the code from the last email you received.

it take before the Call Notification settings become active?
Usually it will work within 5 minutes, but it can take up
to 10 minutes.
How do I turn
off the call notification feature?
If you would like to stop receiving call notifications, select
the "No Alerts" option in Step 1 of Call Notification
Settings.
Why do I keep
getting emails that say I missed a call?
You're getting emails because the "Call Notification" feature
of your CallWave service is turned "on." This feature is one
more way that CallWave helps you not miss important phone
calls.
You can change the Call Notification settings on your account at any time:
- You can have the notification sent to you your cell phone, (if your cell phone accepts
text messages).
- You can send the notification to a different email address.
- You can turn off the notification.
I don't always
receive my call notifications.
- Verify that the caller ID is available for the call or
check the box indicating that you want to be notified of
messages with "private and unavailable" Caller ID. You can
access this setting by clicking on the "Choose Features"
tab in the Members Zone, then click the Call Notification
"modify" button.
- Verify that the online and/or offline box is checked.
You can access this setting by clicking on the "Choose Features"
tab in the Members Zone, then click the Call Notification
"modify" button.
Why does the Caller
ID say "Private" or "Unavailable"?
If your callers block their Caller ID, it will be displayed
as "Private". Sometimes the telephone network is unable to
retrieve the Caller ID of the caller. In this case, "Unavailable"
will be displayed as the Caller ID.
Why do I receive
call notifications while I am online?
You probably have the Call Notification feature configured
to send notifications when you receive calls while you're
online. You can turn off this setting by clicking on the "Choose
Features" tab in the Members Zone, then click the Call Notification
"Modify" button, then uncheck the box next to "You are online"
in step 2 of the configuration page..
